Global Equity and Inclusion

Kick-Start:
Nearly half the world’s cooperatives — and hundreds of millions of members — are based in the Global South. Yet most of today’s AI infrastructure is controlled in the Global North. CoopAI is designed to change that by letting knowledge remain local and federating only insights, not data. But that vision only works if the Global South has equal access to infrastructure, representation, and benefit.

Question:
How can we ensure cooperatives in the Global South participate as equal partners — as co-authors of CoopAI, not just data contributors?

    • What barriers (technical, financial, linguistic) need to be addressed?
    • Should governance include guaranteed regional representation?
    • How can local federations or apexes help level the playing field?
