One of my co-ops, Social.coop, has actually been trying to avoid engagement with AI wherever possible. For some members, part of the value of membership is that the co-op might protect their data from being collected and used for AI training or the like.

Do you avoid AI completely, or are there exceptions? Have you discussed any specific use that your co-op would be ok with?

That co-op is probably not supportive of any AI use cases. There are many people in it who have a strong position.

Thanks for the resources. I’ll take a look.
I think that what “AI” is and what “it” can do is often misunderstood, and this is why you have the luddite and the utopian positions , and none of them are useful orientations on what to do about it, how to use it, and how to develop it for the better.
