GICS-Building Trust Together
At the Global Innovation Coop Summit, this workshop focused on how cooperatives can confront global crises — from climate change and social inequality to healthcare and resource scarcity — through collective, inter-cooperative action.  The discussions highlighted how collaboration across sectors and borders can turn local solutions into global movements for sustainability and justice. Participants emphasized the importance of cooperative diplomacy, trust-building, and shared innovation to tackle challenges that no single organization can face alone.  The question for all of us now is: how can cooperatives lead in solving the world’s biggest challenges — together?

How can cooperatives collaborate across borders, sectors, and movements to address global challenges like climate change, inequality, and access to resources?

Some things to consider in the discussion:
Challenge:  What barriers — political, structural, or competitive — make it difficult for cooperatives to align around global challenges?
Opportunities:  What successful examples of inter-cooperation show how collective effort can lead to real impact on environmental or social crises?
Intercooperation and Innovation:  How can we design cooperative platforms or partnerships that make it easier to share solutions, data, and resources on a global scale?
